flatrock_inlineAs the New Year sweeps its way across Southeastern Michigan and Northern Ohio, track officials from Flat Rock Speedway and Toledo Speeday have put the final elements in place for the 2010 racing schedules for Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways.

2010 Toledo Speedway Full Schedule

2010 Flat Rock Speedway Full Schedule

Toledo opens the new season Saturday, April 17 with a Late Model double-header featuring the ASA North Late Models and the ARCA Gold Cup Series, while Flat Rock jumps into action Saturday, April 24. The full schedules are slated to be released prior to the holidays.

For the past 4 seasons, Toledo's ½ mile paved oval has opened with the ASA Late Models.  For 2010, a new twist to the event will see the ASA North Late Models paired with the ARCA Gold Cup Late Models as the season opens Saturday, April 17.  ASA boss Ron Varney will serve as promoter of the event.  A Friday afternoon, April 16 practice session is planned, with racing to take place Saturday.  Time schedules for both days will be released at a later date.  The event pairs the stock-bodied ASA Late Models and the outlaw-style bodied ARCA Gold Cup cars for the first time.  The April 17 contest will be one of the Midwest's top season openers for fans and race teams alike.  A special Friday night race season kick-off party is in the works at the Speedway Bar and Grille April 16, with details to follow.  A rain date of Sunday, April 18 has been established for this event.

30 miles to the north of Toledo sits Flat Rock, MI Speedway, Toledo's sister track.  The ¼ mile paved oval, which features Saturday night race cards, begins its 58th consecutive season of action Saturday, April 24, with the ARCA Late Models, Figure 8's and Street Stocks hitting the track for the first time in 2010.  A full slate of Saturday night shows through September is on the way at "The Rock", featuring a variety of events, providing family fun and entertainment for all ages.  Race time is 7 p.m. sharp.

Toledo will begin its weekly Friday night races April 30 with a 4 division show, as the ARCA Sportsman class tackles the big ½ mile, while the ARCA Figure 8's, Factory Stocks and 4 Cylinders hit the short track for more action and excitement.  A wide range of touring series events, in addition to the ARCA divisions, is once again on the schedule for the upcoming season.   Friday night racing will begin at 7:30 p.m.  Several events will also be held on Saturdays and Sundays for a variety of touring series at the Glass City oval.

Flat Rock will host a pair of test and tune practice sessions prior to the April 24 opener.  They are set for Sunday, April 18 from Noon to 5, and Wednesday, April 21 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Toledo will hold a practice session Sunday, April 25 from Noon to 5 p.m.
