Jim Leasure and the folks at Spartan Speedway were doing their rain dance and working on the DW Vortex and praying to whatever gods it is they pray to, trying to stave Mother Nature off.
Qualifying was nearly completed and the drivers meeting was getting ready to be called when old lady wet and windy made her appearance, washing away the show.
The final call was made at 6:30pm.
The weather forecast for the balance of the weekend is exceptional, so Spartan Speedway hopes to see everyone on Sunday for the 2nd roundof the Slugfest.
Sponsored by Performance Automotive Northwest in Jackson; Late Models, Sportsmans, Pure Stock and Pony Stocks will take to the track the stars call home, including figure eight racing for the Pures & Ponys.
