The team at Thunderbird Raceway knew coming into the 2009 season that there were going to be several obstacles and hurdles they would have to overcome.

One of the largest ones was the general condition of the track.

Previous ownership had let track maintenance slide and it was readily apparent by the weeds in the track and infield, the poor quality of the building and facilities that things had been let go.

Probably the most important and more energetic of Arroway Farms projects was getting the track back into tip top shape.

The boys at Thunderbird Raceway have been working night and day to get the track ready to go and have come to the decision that it would be best to postpone opening night one week to ensure the best possible racing.

SAFETY CREW UPGRADE

The last several years at Thunderbird Raceway, the local township volunteer fire department was used as the safety team at Thunderbird Raceway.

While that is a great community effort and those guys were strong supporters of racing at Thunderbird Raceway, the new management team at Thunderbird thought it would be in the racers best interest to have a fully training and specialized safety crew on hand for all events.

To that end the safety team from Cherry Raceway has been brought on board to provide track side safety services.
