MOTTVILLE, MI, SATURDAY, JUNE 20,2009
Veteran Wayne KLine won his 2nd Mini Stock feature in a row on a hot Saturday at the Mottville Speedway!
This may well have been the easiest $210 Wayne Kline ever made in racing!
With his grandson, Dustin, on hand and hot shoe Derek Davis it appeared the feature would be close! Dustin had already won the heat over his grandfather!
But 3 laps into the feature Dustin exited with a blown transmission. Davis ran 8 laps and exited with a bad distributor!
After the heat Jeremey Collins left, reportly because he did not like running on radial tires!
So that left Ken Taylor to battle Kline.
It also meant any mini stock that had shown up and ran at least 9 laps of the feature would have taken home $100!
As it was Taylor took home $150, Dustin Kline $80 and Davis $100!
Meanwhile there was a strange ending to the Mini Thunder Car feature!
John Polson appeared to have the victory well in hand when coming out of turn 4 he showed way down and Ryan Stauffer just got by him at the finish line for his first win of the season!
Polson won the heat and took over the season points lead by 2 points over Stauffer.
Mark Pebler won the kart heat and feature.
It was Pebler's 4th feature win of the season and he moved into 2nd in the season point standings.
Walt Grimes was present and said he hopes to have his MS ready to race at Mottville June 27!
June 27 gates open at 4 pm and racing starts at 5 pm.
