With the modifieds given the week off for the special at Northern Michigan Speedway, four classes greeted fans for a great night of racing. The dash races were next with Tim Schmidt taking the factory stock win over Casey Schimmel, Todd Ferguson and Terry Bisson. The action was unbelieveable as they could not be seperated durring the 4 lap affair. The pure stocks would see hotshoe Ryan Radziejewski on top with Stan Chaskey, Kris Riley and Dave Morrell rounding out the field.Morrel would retire pitside and repair a broken front balljoint and miss the heat action. All of the cars were very evenly matched, and put on a great show for fans. The bomber dash would see Rich Sangster back on top once again. Sangster has really been cleaning house here at Onaway. Paul Klein would be hot on his tale, but would not have enough to get the job done. Frank Pelkey and Ken Werner would round out the race. Sam Bohling veteran racer would be behind the wheel of the number 58 mustang as Dan Autore was loaning the ride for the night. Bohling would take the win over Barry Gokee, Don Dangler and Tom Gray. Bohling hopes to be back by next week as his late model motor should be ready.
The Australian persuit race for the pure stocks was up next. Chris Sylvester rookie driver behind the wheel of the No. 45 would pace the field to the green, leading the first lap of the event before spinning into the infield in turn two. Chris was able to get the car turned around and headed pitside. Giving the lead to eventual race winner Ryan Radziejewski. Riley would take second, followed by Chaskey, Sylvester and Prow. The bomber Aussie was won by Billy Clement, followed by Rich Sangster, Frank Pelkey, Paul Klein, Ken Werner and Steve Docherty. Barry Gokee would take the win in his Aussie with Don Dangler,Bohling, Zack Gray, Zack Knight and Tom Gray wrapping up the field.
The factory stock heat race would have fans scared and on their feet. Todd Ferguson was fighting for position with Tim Schmidt when Schmidt's car turned up into Ferguson. Tims car would get airborn catching the wall causing his car to flip into the water barriers on the pit apron. Schmidt climbed from the car under his own power, but was a bit sore in the ribs. He would retire for the night. Casey Schimmel would take the win followed by Ferguson and Bisson. The race was declared over after the accident, so that track officials could clean the fuel and water from the track.
The pure stock heat would see Radziejewski take a commanding lead over Chris Riley. Riley would close the lead up and bring fellow competitor Stan Chaskey with him. The three cars were within inches of each other as the checkered flag flew. Riley would take the win with Chaskey, Radziejewski, Morrell and Sylvester rounding out the field.
