With cars in the pits, and most of the tracks south of the Gaylord area rained out, Onaway was setting the pace with nearly 30 cars this weekend for test and tune. Local racer Bill Cryderman was on hand with his pure stock, sporting a 2 seater for the 2009 season. Things are in the works for a ride-a-long raffle that will allow a few fans the chance to take laps around the track. The new American Racer slicks that the track has gone to this season have proven to really work good on the track. Many of the drvers worked out the bugs with only one driver in the pure stocks losing an engine early in the afternoon. Like Kinross, their sister track in the north, many drivers have expressed interest in the Northern Michigan Racing Alliance this year. With car count numbers being thrown around, it looks like each class is expected to have a very strong following this season. Come on down and check things out, as Colleen and crew are working to bring the best racing entertainment here in the northern michigan area. My hats are off to them, and to everyone that supports them in their new quest for 2009.
