The Deon "Squeeky" Berlin Memorial salute to America will be the first round of specials on tap for the 2009 season at Kinross. All of the tracks regular classes with the exception of the modifieds will be on hand , plus the NAMRA Formula Indy series. Many special events are planned for that night so stay tuned for more information as it comes available.
July 17th will be the Bob Ford Memorial for the super late models and modifieds. Friends and family have opted to add an additional $300 to win, $250 for second and $150 for third places. This will also serve as a nice tune up for the modifieds, as the next week they will set their eyes on a $2,000 payday.
July 24, will feature the Anne Wilson Memorial for the modifieds. Anne, a mother to driver George Wilson, was very dedicated to the Kinross Speedpark.This will be a stellar event to remember the one we honor. The winner of the 53 lap affair will pocket a cool $2,000 while just to start pays $125. The top four qualifiers will be locked in to the main even, while positions 5-19 will be decided through the heat races and the consi winner will finish out the 20 car starting grid. Any USA, Laird, or Michigan Modified will be legal at this event. Tires will be the American Racer or Hoosier 970 tire, or the Laird Raceway American Racer slick tire.
August 7, will be the Randy Saddison Memorial for the modifieds. A specail purse to be announced is planned, with a 62 lap modified event. Also rule announcements will be made shortly for this event.
September 4, Chippewa County fair night, and Season Championships.
September 11-13, The Randy Dewitt Memorial invitational. Super late models, modifieds, factory stocks,pure stocks, and 4 cylider classes will all be in action. Last season, nearly 120 cars from as far away as Minnesota came to do battle at the eastern upper peninsula bullring. Including Nascar Camping World Truck series driver Joey Miller. Miller was unable to finish out the weekend due to the rain out on Saturday forcing the track to run it's Sunday rain date. Also Gene Colman and Jerry Artuso were on hand to run against the outlaw cars in their ASA cars.
